Originally trained as a designer in Paris, Ana Bianchi later studied fine art
at Chelsea College of Art, the Byam Shaw and Central St Martins in London. Although previously better known for her work in the medias of sculpture and
installation, painting has been a constant focus and something to which she
has returned with regularity.
She has exhibited in Poland, joining a
site-specific project of 30 artists in Skoki headed by Jaroslav Koslowski;
and Geneva, where she was one of six British artists chosen by the Greene
Gallery to exhibit in Unusual Tension in 1999. A Gloucestershire resident,
she has been a regular contributor to the biannual Quenington open-air
sculpture show, and to the Stroud House Gallery.
In London, she has
exhibited in various venues including the Hyde Park Gallery, Lauderdale House
and, more recently, took part in Living Room, an exhibition of nine
installation artists curated by Damian Llambias. The exhibition at the Gavin
Graham Gallery will be her first solo painting show.
